We set highest standards in what we do. Just like our clients. That’s why it is so important to us to know what they think about working with VNC and our business solutions.
I would like to take the occasion to express our satisfaction with the partnership and cooperation with VNC, as well as regarding the product acquired from you. We receive a lot of positive feedback from our users, and great support from VNC. Thank you very much for that.
Thomas Bergmann, Head Online & Mobile Banking Business, SEAD, CREDIT SUISSE AG
“Working with data from the cloud has many advantages. Facilities to host that sort of information have to meet highest possible security requirements. VNCdatacenter, near Zurich, is located in a building that exceeds these requirements: antiseismic, redundant external power supply, redudant emergency power supply with a fuel reserve for 2 weeks, doubled battery power supply for 2 days, strict access controls, and internal access control for every single rack: here, important data is as safe as in Abraham’s bosom.”
Albrecht Broemme, President THW
“We are very happy with the service and attentiveness of VNC. The delays on Zimbra’s side (long waits suring the grant of licenses) were bypassed by VNC quickly and competently. We’re definitely looking forward to continuing our cooperation with VNC.”
Angela Neumann, Open Interactive
“Our contact with VNC was always quick and uncomplicated. Feedback was always brisk and precise. All answers to our questions were always highly competent, which on me made a very good impression. Also, VNC has always responded immediately to change requests from our side. I am very happy with the kind of service that VNC provides.”
Daniel Hirtzi, EDV, GRUBER Touristik GmbH
“VMWare Zimbra – a step ahead for our enterprise. At very assessable cost. VNC has become a reliable and competent partner for us.”
Max Berndt, IT Coordinator, Seitz Group
“NovaTec – Ingenieure für neue Informationstechnologien GmbH organizes itself with the help of Zimbra, using its scheduling, address book, email, and mobile application features. We have chosen Zimbra carefully, due to enormous problems caused by our previous groupware solution (Scalix). Our new systems is a great deal more stable and more performant than its predecessor.”
NovaTec – Engineers for New Information Technologies
“The decisive reason was cost savings (with the similar feature set and reliability and scalability as Microsoft Exchange).
We started working with VNC when we required to make a complex upgrade of Zimbra to a new major release.
We liked how VNC planned and implemented the upgrade. Your engineers demonstrated us their professionalism, product knowledge and quick response times.”
Alexander Kyriy, Alpen Pharma
“We’ve been using the Zimbra solution for years now.
The Zimbra system is very stable and works reliably. Of course, there is still some need for stabilization for come (self) programmed extensions, but I think this is normal in the software environment.
We currently have just over 38,000 mailboxes. The system moves an average of about 10,000 mails per day to an average of 5 recipients per mail. In the top, 30,000 mails per day or over 10,000 mails per hour are sent.
The system consists of 10 virtual servers running on 4 hardwares servers. All servers (2x 8 core CPUs, 64 GB RAM) are under 10% CPU usage.
Overall, the system needs significantly less support than our previous system.
I would probably build a new system identically.”
Helmut Weigel, DFB-Medien GmbH & Co. KG
“Zimbra – a full-fledged, intuitive, web-based mail client, a great way to access emails and appointments ALWAYS and EVERYWHERE. Browser on and off you go. A convincingly simple yet flexible licensing model that also keeps any price comparison. We opted for a complete implementation with VNC and have gained a competent, friendly and flexible partner.”
Norbert Schlechter, abaleo Deutschland GmbH
The faculty and Graduate students in the have been using Zimbra Collaboration Server as the departmental email server for over 7 years. Recently, we brought up an OwnCloud server to act as the primary file server for the department.
Being a strong proponent of Open Source software and believing that the future of storage is not in the classic file sharing server limited to CIFS or SMB or NFS type of file sharing, OwnCloud was a logical choice to provide the storage we use in a way that will grow and adapt. Storage must encompass mobile devices, it must be secure, preferably lightweight and have syncing and be web enabled.
Zimbra and OwnCloud are two of the top open source solutions to fill these needs and the VNCsafe Zimlet is exactly what is needed to seamlessly tie together Zimbra and OwnCloud.
The VNCsafe zimlet ties together the two best pieces of an open source software solution for our Department, Zimbra and OwnCloud, the VNCsafe zimlet was the single missing piece between the two.
The ability to easily attach and save documents from each users OwnCloud storage space within the Zimbra mail web interface is a big increase in productivity and negates the need to pull documents down to local storage before attaching and sending via email. Not only does this reduce the traffic on the network, but reduces the size and maintenance of the user’s machine. We are now evaluating the possibility of providing terminal services to our users instead of stand alone desktop PC’s since Zimbra and OwnCloud are now completely web based with the addition of the VNCsafe zimlet.

Marius Hjelset, Project Head Hosted Services, Vodafone Group
“…it was exactly the right time to think about virtualization. High SAN costs caused increasing uneasiness within our company. That’s why we decided to consult VNC to implement an alternative virtualization strategy, building entirely on proven Open Source products. And we didn’t regret it: By combining modern cloud technologies and virtualization we were able to reduce our previous costs by more than 50 percent. VNC has proven to be an highly innovative and reliable partner.”
Daniel Umber, Head of IT, Losan Pharma
“Booking the Zimbra course with VNC was very easy, even though there were many planning changes from our side. In the end everything had to be arranged very quickly but worked splendidly nonetheless. The seminar itself was very interesting and gave us a great overview of Zimbra. The seminar coach responded perfectly to what we wanted and put focus on the issues that were important to us. The perfect Zimbra course all around! I am even more convinced that with Zimbra we have made the right choice and will recommend VNC’s Zimbra course unconditionally.”
Tanja Gubser, Aspectra AG
“Switching from our Groupware to Zimbra has been efficient and easy, thanks to the team at VNC. The users got accustomed to the new interfaces and processes in no time. Zimbra runs very stable and the central administration makes it easy to handle. Due to the extreme easy integration of mobile devices, we were able to even tighter integrate Zimbra into our business processes.”
Stefanie Rufinatscha, CEDES AG
“AMEFA is one of the largest medical supply retailers in Germany. That’s why we were looking for an excellent groupware solution. VMware Zimbra satisfied our expectations and has been a perfect match to our requirements. Thanks to VNC we were able to migrate smoothly and without any interruption, and want to say thank you for the professional support.”
Michael Schawohl, IT Systems Admin, AMEFA
“The extension of our Zimbra license was quick and effortless, thanks to the work of VNC. The contact and the responsiveness of VNC are exemplary and well worth a recommendation. If cooperation with all partners was so easy and flexible, our company would be able to save a lot of time and money.”
Markus Hofko, Technik, Xidras GmbH
“As a specialized IT service provider for research companies, we are consistently developing our product and service portfolio as T-Systems Solutions for Research, focusing on the increasing demands of researchers on products that enhance collaboration and data exchange, enterprise-wide, platform-independent and secure. In this environment, OpenSource-based products are playing an increasingly important role.
In this context, we have come to the attention of the company Virtual Network Consult (VNC), which pursues exactly this approach. VNC’s products build on the leading OpenSource collaboration and communications products, such as Zimbra and Plone, and are combined into a unified interface within a corporate communications and collaboration solution. In a recent workshop, we were able to convince ourselves of the high professional competence of the VNC experts and the efficient methods of agile software development. We also determined how we can implement the integrated product stack combined with our competence in consulting our customers, implementing and operating tailor-made solutions for the scientific community. We see this as a great potential and strive to use these synergies for customer projects selectively in their infrastructure or as a hosted solution, for example from the Open Telecom Cloud (OTC).”
Andreas Nicolai, Head of Solution Center,T-Systems Solutions for Research GmbH
“We chose Zimbra because our complex requirements meant that we needed a transparent open source platform. By using Zimbra as a collaboration tool, we were able to simplify not only business processes, but also communication with our colleagues and customers.
We like the professionalism and the spirit of the individual employees who look after our projects, and are glad to have found a great consulting partner with VNC.”
Stefan Hartl, IT Technical Management cargo-partner GmbH
“The workshop was very well received by all the participants, especially the trainer Dennis Kersten, who transferred a very good understanding of the Zimbra structure, administration and configuration.
In particular, the training documents have a high quality.
The only thing I find to be worthwhile are some parts of the exercises. They were sometimes a bit too easy and not so suitable for everyday use.”
Axel Koeppen, Thünen-Institut, Informationstechnik
“Our situation was / is:
An ERPsystem which is used only for sales, accounting and warehouse (finished products), stand-alone solutions (Excel, Access ..) have been used for the areas of purchasing, production and storage (raw materials, semi-finished products). No uniform master data / sources.
The goal is:
A uniform system for purchasing, production and storage (raw materials, semi-finished and finished).
Our assortment includes approx. 2,000 finished products, since we process food we must ensure complete traceability in both directions (expiration date, lot number, batch). The BOMs for our articles are sometimes several pages long.
We looked around the market in order to find a system that best suits our requirements and have come across OpenERP. A big plus for OpenSource is that the software itself does not incur any licensing costs, for an ERP system that is an important criterion. In addition, we wanted to expand a modular system.
Since we are directly at the Swiss border, we naturally also looked for a partner from Switzerland. VNC was / is one of the few partners in both Germany and Switzerland. We have invited VNC to us to introduce themselves and were positively surprised.
The fact that the programmers are in India was absolutely no problem for us.
Our main production site is located in Thailand, so we knew what requirements arise around language problems (technical terms, description of workflows).
During the implementation, we had personal contact with the programmers several times, during the meetings at our production facility in Thailand, we also received positive feedback from the department heads involved.
Their understanding of our processes and implementation is impressive. Much could be simplified. Our contacts at VNC proved very much pragmatism in the implementation of the project.
We would definetely select VNC again.
Something else, please do not be frightened when you describe complicated processes and at the end you hear a simple “yes we can handle it”, you will shortly get a solution that will positively surprise you”
