Zug, Switzerland, December 15, 2025 – VNC, a leading developer of open source-based enterprise applications, today announced the launch of an enhanced version of its sovereign technologies, delivering the highest levels of data security across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid deployments. The new capability leverages advanced confidential computing from Intel and quantum‑safe key management from Arqit, a market leader in quantum‑safe security.

As organizations increasingly adopt AI and sovereign technologies across multiple platforms, ensuring the security and compliance of sensitive data remains a critical challenge. Data in use during processing, as well as data in transit between platforms, can be vulnerable – especially to future threats posed by quantum computing.

From confidential computing to quantum‑safe networks
VNC’s enhanced solution addresses these challenges by combining:

  • Intel Trust Domain Extensions (Intel TDX)
Intel TDX provides hardware‑enforced isolation of VMs and Containers to protect data during processing on 5th Gen Intel Xeon and Intel Xeon 6 host processors. Attestation cryptographically verifies the integrity and trustworthiness of the Intel TDX hardware and operating environment, enabling customers to ensure that workloads only run in verified, trusted environments.
  • Arqit NetworkSecure™
Arqit’s platform generates quantum‑safe encryption keys within the Trust Domain and creates secure VPN tunnels between hosts. This approach is designed to be resistant to current and future attacks, including those from quantum computers.

Together, these technologies help to ensure that both data and encryption keys remain fully inaccessible end‑to‑end, even to cloud administrators or malicious insiders. Sensitive information cannot be accessed or decrypted – not today, and not by tomorrow’s quantum‑enabled attackers.

Future‑proof sovereignty and compliance
By combining confidential computing with quantum‑safe key management, VNC enables organizations to safely and securely use data and AI across platforms and regions. The result is a future‑proof approach to:

  • Digital sovereignty – keeping full control over data, keys, and AI workloads
  • Regulatory compliance – supporting strict data protection and sector‑specific regulations
  • Quantum‑safe security – mitigating emerging risks from powerful new compute capabilities

This advancement further strengthens VNClagoon as a secure, sovereign platform for communication, collaboration, and AI‑driven workloads in security‑critical environments.

As AI and cloud technologies become ubiquitous, the attack surface for sensitive data grows dramatically – and quantum computing will only amplify that risk. By combining Intel’s confidential computing with Arqit’s quantum‑safe key management in our VNClagoon stack, we are giving our customers a sovereign platform where data and encryption keys remain protected end‑to‑end, across infrastructures and jurisdictions. This is a decisive step toward truly trusted, future‑proof AI.

Managing Director of VNC in Berlin and Member of the Board of VNC AG in Zug

Organizations want the benefits of AI without compromising on sovereignty, confidentiality or performance. Intel TDX on Intel Xeon platforms creates secure, hardware‑based trust domains for sensitive workloads, and in combination with VNC and Arqit’s quantum‑safe key management, customers can protect their most critical data and AI applications today while preparing for tomorrow’s quantum era.

Paul O’Neill

Senior Director, Confidential Computing, Intel

Quantum computing will fundamentally change the threat landscape, and traditional public key cryptography will no longer be sufficient. Our platform provides strong, quantum‑safe encryption keys that, together with Intel’s confidential computing and VNC’s sovereign VNClagoon platform, deliver end‑to‑end protection for data and keys – from the infrastructure layer right up to AI and collaboration workloads.
