Angular 8 has been released only 2 months ago and already our core products VNCtalk, VNCmail, VNCcontacts and VNCtask run on this new version!
Angular is a JavaScript-based open-source front-end web framework mainly maintained by Google and by a community of individuals and corporations to address many of the challenges encountered in developing single-page applications.
Angular is a state of the art front-end technology and enables us in combination with Apache Cordova to maintain one code base for all platforms on all devices. Thereby, we are able to provide our software as desktop applications, as web clients in browsers and as apps on mobile devices. Thus, all VNClagoon products can be easily adapted to a variety of environments.
The new features and advantages of Angular 8 include, among other workflow and performance improvements, the support of TypeScript 3.4, support of Web Workers, preview of Ivy, lazy loading and an improvement of ngUpgrade. This means that we for example can generate new web workers from the CLI. This allows us to speed up our applications because it offloads work to a background thread.
With this major change we are now able to provide the VNClagoon business software stack even more efficiently, for example because there is no need to maintain three different code bases. Angular 8 makes the development and continuous improvements of VNCtalk, VNCmail, VNCcontacts and VNCtask fast and reliable.
In the near future, all of our VNClagoon products and modules will follow.
