We are continuously improving VNCtalk and have now released VNCtalk version 2.3.6! The most important changes of this new version are major architecture improvements (scalability and failover), further features for VNCmeet, several UI changes (e.g. video thumbnails), the possibility to select the preferred input devices and we added a notification update for real time multi channel alerts.

Short Review:
In our last release of VNCtalk version 2.3.5  we introduced a new feature: VNCmeet for VNCtalk. VNCmeet, as part of our business messenger VNCtalk, makes it now possible to start video calls with external guest users, who don’t need a VNCtalk subscription. No VNCtalk account needed, no app download necessary – just invite external participants by adding their email address and start a video meeting!

With VNCmeet, professionals with all kinds of responsibilities are enabled to reach out to their patients, clients, customers or anybody that needs quick help and assistance – in a secure manner and without any technical obstacles. The person in need of help simply receives an email with a link leading him/her directly to the video meeting.

See here how it works in detail: VNCmeet Manual

In our latest version, VNCtalk 2.3.6, we improved the video thumbnails. Now all video thumbnails display your full camera angle instead of cutting it off on the sides to fit the former square format. The new thumbnails will now adapt to the standard angle of your camera.

In VNCtalk 2.3.6 we also installed a new video bridge failover. The Videobridge is a Web RTC-compatible Selective Forwarding Unit (SFU) that further enhances the video conferencing capability of all VNCtalk clients. You can now conduct video conferences with larger number of users in perfect quality.

Another new feature is the more precise selection of input devices. Now, you can select which camera and microphone you‘d like to use. This comes especially handy if you use a webcam and headset in parallel and want to specify which of your microphones you‘d like to choose to talk. If you use a webcam, a headset and a desktop microphone you can – of course – select from these input devices.

We further improved the workflow of inviting external users via URL in VNCmeet and added a new arrow button to invite users to an audio or video meeting.

Further improvements:

On iOS, it is now possible to switch between front and back camera during a call and we improved the behaviour of the ringtones for outgoing calls in our VNCtalk Desktop Client.

We added a notification update for real time multi channel alerts.
